I will always strive to do my absolute best by you and regularly review what is considered best practice. My pets at-home euthanasia cost reflects this: pre-euthanasia sedation and anaesthesia, analgesia, the home visit and as much time as each visit requires.
My fees are comparable to other dedicated euthanasia services running in the UK, as well as the fees that most traditional veterinary practices would charge if they were able to provide a home visit. Pets at-home euthanasia cost is likely to be more than attending for a euthanasia consult in a bricks and mortar practice.
Full payment is to be made the evening before my visit or by 8.30am on the morning of to confirm the appointment.
I no longer charge a deposit fee as I appreciate that families can sometimes feel that a particular day that has been booked in advance no longer seems right for them. I want you to be able to make your choices freely but please be aware that for cancellations made with 3 hours or less notice to the start of the scheduled arrival time I will charge a cancellation fee of £60 to cover costs incurred. I prepare for visits in advance so for cancellations at short notice I incur fuel costs, sometimes staff wages, losses from discarded medication.
This is a nominal cancellation fee. It does not cover for loss of appointment availability. I only visit with two families a day on average. Most of my appointments are booked in advance and all require travel time. I may well have turned another family away for an appointment time that had been reserved. Where possible I am always very grateful to be made aware promptly and ahead of time if an appointment is no longer needed. Please leave a voicemail even if outside of office hours. I can then offer up the appointment slot to another family and continue my work.
